About the Author
George Rawlison, was born on the 23rd of November 1812 in Oxfordshire, and is the brother of Sir Henry Rawlinson. An English historian and Orientalist, he made significant contributions to the study of ancient empires and the classics. He is best known for his translation of Herodotus’ The Histories. He died in 1902.
